Avihitham Twitter review: The response for Senna Hegde's film has been positive throughout, with the netizens terming it fun, entertaining and thought-provoking.

Avihitham marks noted filmmaker Senna Hegde’s return to the big screen after Kunchacko Boban-led Padmini had a lacklustre theatrical run in 2023. The film, which is once again set in Hegde’s home turf, Kanhangad, brings back the quirkiness and depth in characters that the Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam director is known for. The response to the film has been positive overall, with the netizens terming it fun, entertaining and thought-provoking as well.

Senna Hegde’s latest Malayalam film, Avihitham, released in theatres on October 10, 2025. But before that, the film had a special show on October 8 and paid premieres on October 9. The film seems to have impressed most of its viewers, who have taken to Twitter to share their excitement. Netizens have especially enjoyed the comedy in the first half, while most found it to be entertaining throughout. Much of their praise is directed towards Senna Hegde, with some claiming it is his best since ‘Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam’. "What a comeback of Senna Hegde, Welcome Back. A movie that makes you laugh and think a lot, with a small plot beautifully presented," reads one comment on Twitter.
The film revolves around a bunch of townspeople who get to know that an extra-marital affair is happening and now are determined to catch the ‘culprits’. The film’s tagline read ‘Not Just a Man’s Right’, as Senna Hegde looks at this taboo subject with a tinge of humor. Unni Raj, Renji Kankol, and Vineeth Chakyar appear in key roles along with many others, who add to the distinct Kasaragod flavour.
Prior to Avihitham, Senna Hegde had helmed Padmini and 1744 White Alto, both of which did not have an impact on box office. His most known project is Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam in 2021, which also won the National Award. Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam was also set in Kanhangad and revolves around a family preparing for an engagement ceremony even though the bride is not interested.
