As per Variety India, the film is a dramatic recreation of the events that transpired on the terrifying night of November 26, 2008, when two Pakistani terrorists, Ajmal Kasab and Ismail Khan, broke into the hospital. In their violent attempt to take control of the building, the two assaulted it, killing security officers and injuring other staff members. The medical personnel at the hospital showed extraordinary courage in the face of the mayhem. Their swift action ensured the safety of their most vulnerable patients, including pregnant women and newborns. To avoid detection, they sealed all windows and doors, turned off all lights, and silenced their phones.

Under continual danger of death, the production aims to depict how these carers swiftly moved patients to safer regions. The film presents the Cama and Albless Hospital as a "major focal point in the initial hours of the 26/11 attacks due to the fierce shootout between the terrorists and the Mumbai police," a confrontation that resulted in the deaths of senior police officers, including ATS Chief Hemant Karkare, as its official description puts it.
