It looks like the makers of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie Leo are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a grand cinematic spectacle. Producer Lalit Kumar revealed that they have earmarked a big chunk of the budget for the movie's special effects.

"The special effects of the movie are being done on an international level. The studio that worked on RRR is handling the CGI. Everything will look massive on the screen," Lalit revealed.

The filmmakers have roped in Moving Picture Company, which has an impressive filmography including Top Gun Maverick, Elvis, and Spider-Man No Wat Home to name a few. Recently, the special effects studio also worked on 2022's Hindi movie Bhediya. Starring Bollywood star Varun Dhawan in the lead, the movie garnered a lot of appreciation for its special effects.

Lalit noted that promoting the movie in parts of the Hindi belt was a challenging job. "Pressure is there but we have to make sure this film reached everywhere. Our main target is to take this film to North Indian audiences. And we are also planning to give it a big launch in overseas market," he said.

Leo marks Vijay's foray into the pan-India bandwagon . "When we initially planned Leo, it was not a pan-Indian movie. When Vikram became a hit, I asked Vijay sir to make Leo a 'pan-Indian' movie," Lalit revealed earlier.

Vijay, however, was hesitant at first but finally gave in when Lalit and director Lokesh Kanagaraj insisted.

Leo is due in cinemas on October 16. The production will come to an end this month, following which the post-production will begin.

Besides Vijay, the film also stars Trisha, Sanajy Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mansoor Ali Khan.
