Black Panther: Wakanda Forever holds production until 2022 as Letitia Wright heals from on set injury

It was shocking news when Letitia Wright was hurt on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever a few months ago. While the audiences have been waiting for further updates on her health, Deadline reports state that the film has been put under hold until 2022, as she heals from the injuries.

Wright was hurt on the set while utilising a stunt gear, amidst the shoot in Boston. Her injuries were reported to be of minimal initially, but now it turns out otherwise. The actor is reportedly healing from a concussion and a shoulder injury.

It is also reported that Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Nate Moore of Marvel Studios have sent information to the sequel’s crew regarding the hiatus. According to sources, Wright has also delivered a video message to her team, thanking them for support.

Though they confirm that she will be back on set by January and the production will begin soon, it also implies that her injuries are more severe than the first thought. However it is also assumed that Wright’s character will be playing a major part in the movie, for which her presence could not be avoided for the major portion of the shoot.

Wakanda Forever is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated of the studio’s 2022 release schedule. Wright’s character Shuri has certainly become a fan-favourite after she was featured in Black Panther. The sequel will be the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is being helmed by Ryan Coogler, and co-written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole. The movie also features stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett among others.
