For the last couple of days, social media has been abuzz about director Lingusamy making a sequel to his super hit film Paiyaa 2. It is heard that the project will have Arya and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Ever since the speculation started doing the rounds, cinephiles found it difficult to digest the news.

They felt that Karthi and Tamannaah, who played lead roles in Paiyaa, should be part of the sequel. Many took to social media to express their shock and were looking forward to an official announcement on the same.

However, Boney Kapoor has now cleared the air by tweeting that Janhvi hasn't committed to any Tamil film. He also requested everyone not to spread unnecessary rumours. His tweet read, "This is to bring to your notice that Janhvi Kapoor has not committed to any Tamil Films at the moment, requesting not to spread false rumors (sic)."

Paiyaa, which was released in 2010, was a runaway hit in both Tamil and Telugu. The latter version was released under the title Awaara. The chemistry between Karthi and Tamannaah, Yuvan Shankar Raja's chartbuster songs and action scenes were highlights of the movie which was a turning point in Karthi's career.

Janhvi, who was last seen in Mili, will next be seen in Bawaal which has her sharing screen presence with Varun Dhawan. Arya, on the other hand, has Muthaiya's Kather Basha Endra Muthuramalingam which was announced a couple of months ago.

Boney Kapoor, who last made Thunivu with Ajith, has also announced that the action drama is gearing up for an OTT premiere from February 8. The veteran producer, who bankrolled three projects of Ajith, is yet to announce his next Kollywood movie.
