Fans of Dhanush were elated ever since director Arun Matheswaran expressed his excitement over directing the star for an untitled movie after the release of his debut project Rocky. The film being bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films was later titled Captain Miller.

Tipped as an adventurous action flick which is set in a time period several decades ago, Priyanka Mohan essays the female lead in it while Sundeep Kishan and Shivarajkumar play key roles in it. GV Prakash and Madhan Karky have been roped in to handle music direction and dialogues respectively.

We have learnt from reliable sources that the big budget movie is being planned as a Deepavali release. An official announcement could be expected anytime soon from makers. The film is the second outing for Dhanush this year after Vaathi which was released a month ago.

The bilingual drama helmed by Venky Atluri will be dropped on Netflix on Friday. The movie joined the likes of the star's Thiruchitrambalam with regard to entering the 100 crore club. He is expected to team up with Sun Pictures for a project soon, in addition to his second directorial project which will also go on floors this year.

Ajith's AK 62 (tentative title) was the first project which was expected to hit the screens for Deepavali. The makers of the project are yet to come up with an official update on its shooting. Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 is also said to be in the race for the festival.

Kodi was the last film of Dhanush which was released for the occasion. The 2016 movie had a box office clash with Karthi's Kaashmora. Both the films ended up as average grossers at the end of their theatrical run.
