Chandramukhi 2 final schedule underway in Mysore, Vadivelu and Raghava Lawrence join the set

The shoot for the film, helmed by P Vasu, is likely to go on for 10-15 days

The final schedule of P Vasu's Chandramukhi 2 has begun in Mysore and is going on at a brisk pace. Vadivelu and Raghava Lawrence have joined the sets. The team is planning to wrap up in a span of 10-15 days as the makers are planning to release the film for Vinayagar Chathurthi in September.

Though there is no clarity on whether the film is a sequel to Chandramukhi (2005), which in turn was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1997). Chandramukhi starred Superstar Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Jyotika, Nayanthara and Vadivelu. The film was a massive hit at the box office.

The film stars Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead and she is said to be playing the titular character. Chandramukhi 2 marks Kangana's third project in Tamil after Dhaam Dhoom (2008) and Thalaivii (2021). While director Jeeva's Dhaam Dhoom opened to positive reviews, Thalaivii, a biopic on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was a box office failure.

The Emergency actress, who has already completed her portions, had shared on social media that it was difficult to say goodbye to the team with whom she had a great time working with.

She wrote, "As I am about to complete my role in Chandramukhi today, I find it very difficult to say bye to many wonderful people that I met, such a lovely crew I had, I didn’t have any pictures with Raghava Lawrence sir because we are always in film costumes so this morning before shoot started I requested for one, I am so inspired by sir who is popularly known as Lawrence master because he started his career as a choreographer actually as a back dancer but today he is not only a blockbuster filmmaker / superstar but also an incredibly lively, kind and wonderful human being… (sic)."

While Kangana is said to be playing the ghost Chandramukhi, Raghava Lawrence is playing Vettaiyan. The choreographer and actor had met Rajinikanth himself and sought his blessings before he embarked on the project. It is well known that Lawrence is a huge fan of Superstar Rajinikanth.
