Chidambaram dismisses reports on working with Dileep as fake, Manjummel Boys director clears the air

Acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker, Chidambaram, is busy with the post-production works of his upcoming directorial, Balan. Online rumors have been circulating that the director may collaborate on his next project with Malayalam's Janapriya Nayakan Dileep. Chidambaram has, however, denounced these reports as false.

Is Chidambaram working with Dileep in his next film?

On February 27, there were rumors online that the young director will collaborate with Dileep on his upcoming film, which is supposedly a survival thriller. On social media, the filmmaker refuted these allegations, calling them false and stating that he is not a specialist in survival thrillers and that people should double-check before publishing such news reports. "I am not sure how these kinds of information surface or who is the source. I am currently concentrating on Balan's work and have no such intentions as mentioned in these social media reports," he told OTTplay. Balan will be released on the big screen this year before Onam, Chidambaram revealed.

Renowned director Ram Gopal Varma recently lauded the Manjummel Boys' director and shared his thoughts on the film on social media. The director claimed to have seen a brief clip of Chidambaram's movie when the two recently met. "Whatever I have seen of #Balan, I think it will SHAKE the FILM INDUSTRY," he posted to X.

After the film's production was completed in December 2025, Chidambaram posted a photo on social media to indicate that post-production work will soon begin. Because Jithu Madhavan, the director of Aavesham, wrote the screenplay for Balan, many fans have been anticipating the movie since its premiere. After Manjummel Boys' 2024 success, there is a lot of anticipation for this movie. The producers have not yet disclosed the cast members.
