Chiyaan 64 official update: This collaboration marks Vikram's first collaboration, following Prem Kumar's successful films like 96 and Meiyazhagan

With Tamil cinema launching new films recently, the latest one added to the list promises a unique combination. Actor Vikram, who was recently seen in Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, will be pairing up with filmmaker Prem Kumar. The announcement was made on Wednesday.

Chiyaan 64 announced:

Vikram and director Prem Kumar of 96 and Meiyazhagan fame are collaborating for the first time for an upcoming film tentatively titled Chiyaan 64. The film will be bankrolled by Vels Film International, which had recently announced its director’s lineup of films for the years 2025-2027. Much about the cast and crew has not yet been revealed by the makers, but the union of Prem Kumar and Vikram has set fans of the actor in an anticipatory mode.

While Prem Kumar is known to delve deep into human emotions, namely through his films 96 and Meiyazhagan, both films have received a good reception among the audience. Meanwhile, Vikram, who is known for his powerhouse performance, had recently starred in Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 and Thangalaan. Both films were critically acclaimed but had middling box office success. More about Chiyaan 64 is expected to be announced soon.

What happened to Chiyaan 63

It was a while ago that Vikram announced Chiyaan 63 with director Madonne Ashwin. However, the makers are yet to come out with any updates. Neither the cast and crew, nor the title of the film was announced by the team so far, with the shooting not yet begun for Chiyaan 63.

Madonne’s last directorial was the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maaveeran, which completed two years sinceits release. It was only recently that the film was released in Japan theatres and is currently running in over 50 screens. The film revolves around a cartoonist who after a near-death experience gets a superpower that helps him to confront a corrupt system in relation with the housing board he lives in. Shanthi Talkies, which announced Chiyaan 63, had produced Maaveeran.
