Coolie actor Shruti Haasan is playing the daughter of actor Sathyaraj in the film. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film will release on August 14

With only few more weeks to go for the release of Coolie, the hype has only increased for the Rajinikanth-starrer. The film is written and directed by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and features a star ensemble including Nagarjuna, Upendra and others. In a recent interview as part of Coolie promotions, actor and singer Shruti Haasan spoke about her co-star and how the audience will be surprised by their role.

Actor Shruti Haasan who is part of the upcoming film Coolie, will be sharing the screen space with Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna and others for the first time. Speaking at an interview with journalist Prema, Shruti Haasan got excited while talking about Nagarjuna and his role in Coolie.
"I knew Nagarjuna garu socially, always charming, always wonderful, always amazing. But working with him in this is extra special because it is his first negative role. I have been a big fan of his, but now I am a super fan. You guys are not ready for it, that is all I am saying. So cool in the film,” Shruti Haasan said. While the actor did not reveal further details about his role, Shruti Haasan’s comments are enough to get Nagarjuna’s fans excited.

Shruti Haasan also revealed that she plays the role of Sathyaraj's daughter in Coolie. Recalling the time when Lokesh Kanagaraj had come to meet her for Inimel music video and had pitched the role of Preethi to her. "It was flung on me like a sudden shock. Shruti Haasan said that Coolie is full of men, while she said that her character has a "feminine soul" and that many people will relate to her.

Coolie is set to release in theatres on August 14. The film will release alongside War 2. Produced by Sun Pictures and music by Anirudh Ravichander, the trailer of Coolie will release on August 2.
