Coolie box office has been having a fluctuating trend ever since its release. Hit theatres on August 14, the Rajinikanth-starrer was one of the most-anticipated Tamil films of the year but became a colossal disappointment for fans, who were eagerly expecting the collaboration between the superstar and director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Coolie, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is an action thriller which is currently running in theatres. It has been the only major release this month in Tamil cinema. However, with the film being a disappointment, Coolie has been having a turbulent pattern at the box office.

Only on Monday we reported the rising trend during the second weekend. However, as the latest Sacnilk report, the total collection of Coolie is Rs 260.35 crore with the second Monday seeing a dip, with back to being in single digits (Rs 3 crore). Coolie is expected to dominate the box office until Madharaasi arrives on September 5, which is the next notable release in Tamil. As per Hindustan Times report, Coolie has collected over Rs 450 crore and is now the fourth-highest grossing Tamil film of all time. It is also the top grossing Tamil film of this year so far.

The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film has been bagged by Prime Video. While the streaming platform is yet to announce the release date, Coolie is expected to premiere sometime in late September.
