It has been a day since the streaming debut of Coolie. The Rajinikanth starrer is available on Prime Video to watch in multiple languages. While the film is for you to watch and react, a clipping of what looks like a newspaper article has gone viral on social media. It says that Aamir Khan thinks Coolie was his big mistake. However, let’s do a fact-check and see if the article is indeed real or not.

Fact check: Did Aamir Khan say Coolie was a mistake?

A newspaper article style image is doing rounds on social media. The headline of the article flashes, 'Coolie was a big mistake' and Aamir Khan was quoted as saying. The article also went on to quote that Aamir Khan allegedly said that he accepted to do the cameo role in Coolie only for Rajinikanth and that he felt his role had 'no real purpose, no thought behind it' and 'badly written'. The article image does not contain any publishing date and byline.

Netizens have been circulating the post, and mocking Coolie, given the film had resulted in a colossal disappointment. However, it looks like the image is fake and no such statements were made by Aamir Khan on Coolie. For those who don’t know, Aamir Khan appeared as Dahaa in Coolie, towards the end. His role was not met with much appreciation and instead ended up as a mockery.

Aamir Khan- Lokesh Kanagaraj film dropped?

It was reported earlier that Lokesh Kanagaraj will do a film with Aamir Khan after Coolie. The project was touted to be a superhero subject and Aamir Khan had also expressed his intention to work with Lokesh Kanagaraj. However, the speculations in town say that the project has been dropped. Neither of the parties have confirmed or denied the rumours.
