The drop in Coolie collections on day 2 meant that the Hindi film War 2, which clashed with the Thalaivar movie, has shortened the gap shortened the gap between the two.

On the other hand, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, has bettered its day 1 collections by making Rs 56.35 crore as compared to the opening figures of Rs 52 crore.

So on day 2, War 2 has got the better of Coolie which only made 53.50 crore. However, the total collection of the Hindi action thriller is Rs 108.68 crore and still behind the Tamil film by nearly Rs 10 crore.

Coolie needs to consistently perform in the coming days to stay ahead of War 2. However, it is notable that both Coolie and War 2, though much hyped did, not live up to the expectations. Both films garnered mixed to negative reviews. Rajinikanth’s gangster film boasts a slew of stars from across industries with the likes of Telugu star Nagarjuna and Bollywood star Aamir Khan making a cameo. For War 2, it was the big Bollywood debut of Telugu star Jr NTR the attraction in south.
