Actor Dhanush, who has a line-up of films, including Idly Kadai, the one which he is directing, has already begun shooting for his next, D54. Helmed by director Vignesh Raja, the makers of the film released a new still from the project which is yet to get a title.

We had earlier reported that actor Dhanush will be collaborating with director Vignesh Raja’s second directorial. The project is tentatively called D54, and bankrolled by Vels Film International. The makers recently dropped a still from the film. While not much about D54 is made known, the new one still has got fans of Dhanush excited. It shows Dhanush using the telephone booth, suggesting that the film could be set in the recent past.

D54 features an ensemble star cast including actors KS Ravikumar, Mamitha Baiju, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, Jayaram, Pritivi Pandiraj, and others. Vignesh Raja, who made the critically acclaimed Por Thozhil, will be helming his second project with D54. He has written the film along with writer Alfred Prakash. Theni Eswar will be cranking the camera with Sreejith Sarang handling the edits. A release date for D54 has not yet been announced. GV Prakash, a regular collaborator of Dhanush, will be scoring the music.

What is Dhanush’s next release

Dhanush, who was last seen in Kuberaa, will be starring in Idly Kadai. The film is set to release on October 1 in theatres. Besides starring in the lead role, Dhanush has also helmed the project, produced by Dawn Pictures. Idly Kadai also stars Nithya Menen in her second collaboration with the actor after Thiruchitrambalam, Arun Vijay and Rajkiran.

Besides this, Dhanush has a line-up of films, including one in which he will be reuniting with Karnan filmmaker Mari Selvaraj, a biopic on Abdul Kalam with Om Raut, one with Rajkumar Periyasamy, and the Hindi film Tere Ishk Mein waiting for release.
