Speaking of Gulshan Devaiah, during the launch of the ‘Dahaad’, the actor was asked about how he manages to stand out in an ensemble cast like that of ‘Dahaad’. After listening to the question patiently, Gulshan Devaiah, with a poker face, said, “I don’t try to stand out. I really do not think of it that way at all. But I used to do this to do a little bit of business.  People think that I am a really good actor. That's why I strike a deal with them stating, “Main thoda kam achha acting karoonga, toh aap acche lagogey. Aise karte, mujhe 25-23 laakha rupaye mil jaate... per scene”. Here, after hearing Gulshan unleash his ‘business acumen’, everybody broke into peals of laughter.

This time round, on a serious note, Gulshan said, “Everything is about the story, the scene, who you are working with. One person just cannot make the scene work. There’s a lot of people who are behind the camera, who are facing the camera, the c-actors, the technicians.... All of us put our efforts together to make a scene work. And that scene flows to another scene and then another … likewise... and then, the story is told. I don’t really care about trying to stand out. I want to just be as honest as possible and give my best. That's all I try. If people think that my work is good, then, I am very grateful. Thank you very much. I thinlk that the trick here is not to try too hard to stand out and just be honest and truthful.
