Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday released the trailer for its upcoming true-crime docu-series, Dancing on the Grave. The series uncovers the secrets surrounding Shakereh Khaleeli's disappearance and murder in the 1990s, providing viewers with a unique and insightful look into the tragedy.

The trailer shows that the series delves into the sudden disappearance of Shakereh, a member of a prominent family in Bengaluru, formerly known as Shakereh Namazie. Judging from the teaser, The series doesn't simply focus on uncovering the perpetrator behind the crime but also offers a vivid portrait of the city and how its peaceful existence was shattered by the gruesome incident.

As an heiress from a respected family, with a prominent husband, four beautiful daughters, and a bustling social life, Shakereh appeared to have everything. However, she abandoned it all to marry another man. The docu-series explores what prompted Shakereh to act in this way, what caused her to leave her family and friends, and the events that led to her disappearance.

"With Dancing On The Grave, there was a joint vision that the team shared – a gruesome crime had taken place and yet the whys and the hows of the case remained a mystery. It was our goal to shine a light on this macabre and tragic story. Years of in-depth research have been put in to bring out as many facts and details as possible. Although the case has been revisited by people on and off, I believe our docu-series will present viewers with inside information and an insight into the victim herself," said writer and director, Patrick Graham.

"We also hope the telling of our story can serve as a tribute to the innocents whose lives were ended or profoundly affected by these devastating events," he added.

The series is produced by India Today Originals Production, and is co-written by Kanishka Singh Deo. Dancing on the Grave will debut on Amazon Prime Video on April 21.
