The film's most impressive quality is how it wants to showcase the ability of the heroes of the 1980s to handle humour in ease without any absurdity. Despite the lack of big names, Dheeran keeps on entertaining viewers with its stellar cast of three generations of heroes. These actors inhabit the characters in a convincing way in addition to leading the story.
The film's uncomplicated premise will make you giggle for a while and remind you of some of Malayalam's best comedies that are born out of chaos. The movie begins with the news that Eldose died in a fire accident at his workplace in a remote village in Tamil Nadu. His hometown and his family had varying feelings about this news. A group of his family members and community members set out on bringing his remains back to their hometown for the funeral. It is more complicated than they assumed, though, due to their terrible choices made along the way.

Dheeran's greatest asset is its performers. We get enough rib-tickling scenarios from Sudheesh, Ashokan, and Manoj K Jayan. Jagadish never ceases to amaze us with his fleeting emotional moments. Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Rajesh Madhavan, Shabareesh Varma and Aswathy Manoharan deserve praise for their equally amusing performances. The film does a fantastic job with its casting by also giving Vineeth a negative yet eccentric role.
The viewer is never bored by the film's skilfully written storyline. Despite having a predictable narrative, the movie is kept simple with few characters or subplots. The director, Devadath Shaji, who co-wrote Mammootty's Bheeshma Parvam has penned the script for Dheeran.
