Dear Friend and Ayal Njanalla director Vineeth Kumar’s latest venture had its pooja function at a temple on Thursday. The upcoming movie, which is touted to be a romantic comedy, has Dileep in the lead.

The pooja function was attended by Joshiy, Lal Jose, Udaykrishna, B Unnikrishnan, Kottayam Nazeer and Nadirshah. The movie is scripted by Aravindante Athidhikal writer Rajesh Raghavan and has Sanu P Thahir as its cinematographer. While the makers are yet to announce the lead actress of the film, it’s rumoured that a leading South actress will be roped in for the role.

Dileep’s previous two movies – Bandra and the yet-to-be-titled movie with Udal filmmaker Ratheesh Reghunandan – had Tamannaah Bhatia and Pranitha Subhash as the female protagonists, respectively.

Vineeth, who had previously helmed Tovino Thomas and Darshana Rajendran’s critically-acclaimed film Dear Friend, is set to begin the shoot of the Dileep-starrer by mid April. Midhun Mukundan, who had composed for Rorschach, has also been roped in as the music director for the upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, Dileep is expected to resume the shoot of Ratheesh’s film in Kattapana. The team had wrapped up its first schedule earlier in the month. The upcoming portions will have the actor in a different look and will also involve some massive action sequences.

The second schedule is expected to go on for 50 days, with stunt directors Rajashekharan, Stunt Silva, Mafia Sasi and Supreme Sundar being attached to choreograph the fight scenes in the big-budget film. As per reports, the team has already erected a huge set piece in Kattapana that will serve as the setting for the action scene that involves close to 1,000 junior artistes.

The actor has also wrapped up the shoot for Arun Gopy’s big-budget action entertainer titled Bandra, which has a host of actors including Tamannaah, Dino Morea, Sarathkumar and Lena. Dileep’s next release is expected to be Raffi’s Voice of Sathyanathan, which also has Joju George, Veena Nandakumar and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
