Don: Sivakarthikeyan’s Tamil action-comedy starts dubbing

Sivakarthikeyan’s action-comedy movie Don has begun its dubbing. The movie, directed by debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi, is bankrolled by Sivakarthikeyan Productions and the actor is expected to appear in a new avatar as a college student. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the movie and will mark the sixth collaboration of the actor and the music director. The production house revealed the news through their Twitter handle.

Don is a campus movie and will have Gang Leader fame Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead. It would mark her second collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan after Doctor, which will be released in theatres on October 9. Don will also feature Soori, a frequent comic-combo of Sivakarthikeyan playing a prominent role. SJ Suryah is reported to be playing the antagonist. He was also seen last in Selvaraghavan’s Nenjam Marappathillai in the villain role. Director Cibi Chakaravathi reported earlier that director Gautham Vasudev Menon will appear in a cameo role. The plot and release date of the movie are still kept in the dark. But there are several rumours that the movie will release in December 2021 or January 2022. KM Bhaskar is in charge of cinematography while Nagooran handles editing.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is going through a rough patch in his career with his latest releases. Hero, in which he was last seen, was a commercial failure and was criticised for the plagiarised superhero cliches in the movie. Namma Veettu Pillai also failed to engage the audience, despite claiming to be a family entertainer. So the actor might be looking for a comeback with his simple but effective comic role.
