Tamil star Pradeep Ranganathan’s third film in the lead, Dude, was the big Diwali release from Kollywood this year, and it wooed young audiences instantly. The Tamil film, which also stars Mamitha Baiju in the lead role, was having a good run at the box office, but the day 11 earnings have reduced to Rs 1.40 crore, recording its lowest collection so far. But despite that, Dude, has crossed Rs 100 crore officially, with trade tracker Sacnilk attesting the same.

Dude, the latest Tamil romantic entertainer, has been seeing a dip in its collections. The film struggled at the box office on October 27, its second Monday with just Rs 1.40 crore earned, as per figures revealed by Sacnilk. This is the first time that the Pradeep Ranganathan-starrer has dropped to Rs 1 crore with its previous lowest figure being Rs 2 crore. However, it is not all bad news for Dude as the film’s worldwide collections stand at Rs 105.75 crore. The makers had earlier claimed that Dude crossed Rs 100 crore within just 6 days but industry trackers have stated it took nearly 10 days to hit the three-figure mark.

But notably, Dude hitting the 100-crore mark also means that Pradeep Ranganathan has scored a hat-trick of success at the box office after Love Today, and Dragon. The young actor truly seems to have struck a chord with the audiences with his Gen-Z love tale.

Dude OTT release

Dude will stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. Though the OTT partner is confirmed, the streaming giant is yet to announce a release date. But the Tamil film, directed by Keerthiswaran, is expected to land by the end of November.

Dude revolves around Agan and Kural, childhood friends who also initially worked together. Kural develops feelings for Agan but only to be rejected. When Agan finally realises his love for Kural, she moves on. Apart from Pradeep and Mamitha Baiju, the film also features R. Sarathkumar and Hridhu Haroon in key roles.
