Dulquer Salmaan reveals Tovino Thomas, Soubin Shahir's reactions for Lokah cameos

Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra is laden with numerous cameos featuring some of the notable names from Malayalam. Actors Dulquer Salmaan, who has produced the film and Tovino Thomas were already known to be making appearances in Lokah, even before its release. But there were many others, including Soubin Shahir, who became all the rage after his viral dance steps in the Monica song from Coolie.

Tovino Thomas, who has already played a superhero in Minnal Murali, appears as Micheal the goblin or Chathan in the 2025 Malayalam film Lokah. In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Dulquer Salmaan revealed that Tovino was the one who was most excited among all of them.

“He was the most excited about the film, the role, everything. Like he had no doubts ever like and he's coming up with ideas.. this is what I'm going to do for my look. Only he can do this. He's all heart and he's all that energy that you see on screen is palpable, whenever you hang out with him,” remarked Dulquer who has worked with Tovino Thomas even a decade ago in films like ABCD, which released in 2013.

Tovino Thomas was also the lead actor of Dominic Arun’s first film Tharangam, which featured Santhy Balachandran as the heroine who has now turned scriptwriter with Lokah.

Not just Tovino and Soubin, Lokah also features Anna Ben, Sunny Wayne, Vishak Nair, Santhy Balachandran, Ahaana Krishna, and Balu Varghese in brief appearances.

Dulquer on Soubin Shahir

On the other hand, Soubin Shahir appears in just one scene in Lokah. Even then, he was excited for the project, Dulquer asserted.

“As soon as we mentioned it to him, he said, ‘When do I come, when do you want to shoot?’,” recounted DQ.

Notably, Dulquer has made an extended cameo appearance in Parava, which was directed by Soubin. Both Dulquer and Soubin have acted together in films such as Charlie, which also featured Tovino in a guest appearance.
