Ekka song and EAK trailer launch postponed: Sandalwood condoles RCB stampede

While Diganth's EAK trailer will be shortly given its June 13 theatrical release, Ekka's Bangle Bangari and Doora Theera Yaana's new song launch dates are yet to be announced

Three Sandalwood events – the launch of the second song from Yuva Rajkumar’s much anticipated Ekka, called Bangle Bangari, the song from award-winning filmmaker Mansore’s next Doora Theera Yaana, and the trailer of Diganth’s Edagaiye Apagathakke Karana (EAK) – have been pushed ahead from June 5, 2025, following the stampede at the RCB victory parade in Bengaluru, in which 11 lives were lost.

“The tragic stampede incident at Chinnaswamy Stadium has put us in deep pain and hence we have decided not to go ahead with the release of the song from Ekka. Our prayers are with the families who lost their loved ones,” read a post from PRK Productions, urging fans to stay tuned for further updates on the film, which will be in theatres on July 18, 2025.

Mansore also posted that due to the tragedy in which RCB fans died, the team of Doora Theera Yaana has been shocked and saddened, owing to which they have postponed the song launch scheduled for June 5, indefinitely. A new date will be announced shortly, he added.

Expressing deep condolences in the tragedy, which they believe should not have happened during a moment of celebration, and emphasizing the importance of every life, the team of Doodh Peda Diganth’s (Kanchaana Chowka )upcoming release Edagaiye Apagathakke Kaarana, has postponed the film’s trailer launch by a day. It will now be launched on June 6, 2025, ahead of its June 13 theatrical release.

For the uninitiated, on June 4, 2025, IPL champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru returned to home ground, the Chinnaswamy Stadium for a victory parade, with thousands of fans thronging the venue to catch a glimpse of the trophy and victors. In the ensuing melee, 11 fans lost their lives, while several others were left injured.

Reportedly, the team remained unaware of what was transpiring outside the stadium for the longest and continued with the merriment. They claim that the celebration was cut short once the tragedy came to light, but that has not stopped the brickbats coming RCB management’s way for ineffective crowd control.
