Emraan Hashmi misses the culture where Bollywood music peaked and the actor whose movies are known to provide some of the best promises to bring it back with Awarapan 2

When it comes to Bollywood music, Emraan Hashmi is a whole era that 90s kids grew up listening to. The proof of the same is seen in the recently released The Ba***ds of Bollywood, where the actor found a tribute through two of many beloved songs featuring the actor. While the series referenced Kaho Na Kaho and Zara Sa, Emraan's films featured a line-up of good music. In fact, the actor has even delivered memorable solo songs - that's his impact on music. In a recent interview, Emraan confirmed that much like the original film, Awarapan 2 will have some 'banger hits.' He promises that it has potential to revive Bollywood music. Here's everything he said...
Binge Emraan Hashmi's blockbusters like Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Tigers, and The Dirty Picture with one OTTplay Premium subscription giving you JioHotstar, ZEE5, Sony LIV, discovery+, Fancode and 25+ OTTs for only Rs 149 per month.
"Awarapan is coming back, and we are going to have some really banger tracks on it," Emraan confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He further stated that Awarapan 2 will bring back Bollywood music, as opposed to the current data. "I have heard people say a melody won’t work because the data says so. But you can’t create music like that. It’s not about who’s singing or how many followers they have. It’s about the feeling the song leaves you with," Emraan said, assuring, "We’re going to get it (the Bollywood music) back."
In the same interview, Emraan Hashmi spoke about how the multiplex culture peaked after 2014 and thus, the elites chose to whisper and use hush tones which automatically got translated to Bollywood films. The actor further points out how South Indian cinema continues to embrace emotion and wear their 'heart on their sleeve.'
Talking about watching a Dharma movie where people would sing on the streets, Emraan wondered to himself, "Where has this gone? Why aren't we celebrating love like this anymore?" The actor added, "Earlier, there was joy, a certain abandon in how we expressed emotions. We sang them out loud — literally. And that’s what I miss the most."
