Taking care of her family—her husband, kids, and mother-in-law—is Fathima's first priority in life. Her world shifts, though, when the mattress she sleeps on gets ruined and no one is willing to replace it. She keeps trying to get one, but her mother-in-law treats her with contempt and her husband disapproves. Additionally, they constantly remind her of her "responsibilities" to her family and her dedication to their religious convictions. After some time, Fathima sets out on a path of self-discovery and comes to understand the importance of equal treatment and financial freedom.

Shamla Hamza portrays Fathima, the main character in the movie, while Kumar Sunil, Viji Viswanath, Praseetha, Raji R, Babitha Basheer, and the film's director Fasil Muhammad play supporting parts. For her role in the highly acclaimed film, Shamla won the 55th Kerala State Film Awards' Best Actress category recently. The film was edited by the director himself.
