Footage became available on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium beginning at 12 am on September 5, as confirmed before. The same platform recently featured the release of Malayalam's latest comedy film, Dheeran, which starred Rajesh Madhavan, Jagadish, and Manoj K Jayan.

On the same day, Kammattam a web series, was made available on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Among the other films that had their digital debuts over the Onam holidays were Raveendra Nee Evide?, Flask, and Kadhikan.

Footage's intriguing plot

The movie won praise for its exemplary acting and overall production quality after its theatrical release, making it a gripping and unusually dramatic thriller. Footage's presenter and Bollywood filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap, discussed the Manju Warrier-starrer with the media following its grand premiere. "The film's production is very difficult. It takes a lot of focus and time to make a movie like that," he said.

In order to find out an engaging mystery, two vloggers leave their apartment and head into the woods during an epidemic's peak. From the flat next to theirs, they try to find out more about the strange woman who lives there as well. The primary subject of the film is the two of them becoming lost on an unpredictable journey.

It was the first time that Manju Warrier and renowned editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan collaborated on a film. This film is also a groundbreaking Malayalam film to use a found-footage plot. In this gripping thriller, Gayathri Ashok and Vishak Nair play important roles as well. The movie's music has been composed by Sushin Shyam.
