The celebrity chat show is currently rolling out its eighth season and each episode has its own gravitational force which makes the audience all hearts. In today’s episode of Koffee with Karan, Bollywood’s OG queens Kajol and Rani Mukerji graced the Koffee with Karan couch and fans are already thankful for their presence and entertainment.

Karan Johar trips down memory lane as he shares the reason why he had asked Rani Mukerji to eat less food during the shoot in Mauritius. Revealing the reason, he said, “So just lose some weight because you have to wear it.”

And Rani confidently said that she will lose 4-5 kilos. However, the catch is kilos happened differently. “I was like how is she going to wear this short orange skirt?” the celebrity host revealed. He further added that he and Manish Malhotra instructed the room service not to give any food to Rani and the reason he had to snatch away the plate from her hand!

The actors who were also main leads alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Karan Johar’s directorial debut film revealed the reason why they weren’t too close despite sharing blood as cousins. "I've known her (Kajol) as a kid and she is always Kajol didi (sister) for me and yeah it was a bit strange but I guess when you grow up and grow apart, you don't know the reason why, Rani Mukerji shared her side of the story. They also described the family moment that brought them closer after their dads passed away and a critical time when they could share and relate to the feeling of grief and loss.

The quiz round was packed with hilarious moments right from the beginning to the end. From being unable to guess the movie names in which the other made the guest appearance to shushing the host, the quiz round will make your mouth tired from constant grinning. Although both Kajol and Rani Mukerji played “horribly” as claimed by the filmmaker host, it was Rani who won after the tie-breaker question.

The alternate endings

To commemorate the silver jubilee of the trio’s film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a special video with social media influencers like Sumukhi Suresh, Kareema Barry, Kusha Kapila to other internet personalities was shown to Kajol and Rani Mukerji. After the rapid-fire round wrapped up and the results announced the Hichki actress winning the gift hamper, Kajol took the loss with suspicious eyes and even claimed jokingly that the results by the jury audience were rigged. The fun banter turned sweeter when Karan Johar teamed up with Kajol to tease Rani Mukerji as the “malkin” and “queen” because the shooting takes place at YRF studio, owned by the actress’ husband.
