Directed by Anudeep KV who returns to direction after a long time, Fucky is a comedy drama. Here is how the film performed on the first day at the box office.

Funky box office collection day 1: How much did Anudeep KV's film make?

Funky is a recently released Telugu comedy drama. Jathi Ratnalu fame director Anudeep KV, who last made Tamil film Prince starring Sivakarthikeyan in 2022, has been laying low for a while. After four years, the filmmaker's Funky has hit theatres on February 13. It stars Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar in the lead roles.

As per Sacnilk report, Funky's box office collection on its first day stands at Rs 2.25 crore overall in India. Given the film does not boast tier 1 stars, it is a nominal start for the film. Even as Anudeep has a niche audience for his comic sense, Funky had opened to middling and not so favourable reviews.

What is Funky all about?

Funky revolves around a film director whose project gets stopped after his producer meets with financial issues. However, the producer's daughter takes up the responsibilities to complete the film. The rest of Funky is about how the director and daughter complete the film even as ego surfaces between them.

Actor Kayadu Lohar who was last seen in Tamil film Dragon plays the producer's daughter, while Vishwak Sen appears as the director. Besides them, the film's cast also includes Naresh, VTV Ganesh and others. Suresh Sarangam has shot the film and Naveen Nooli has edited Funky. Bheems Ceciroleo has scored the music.

Funky’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Netflix. The streaming platform is expected to premiere the film sometime in March, after it completes theatrical run.
