Gaalipata 2 has retained its grip on the box office and ended the two-week run in the theatres on a high. Despite the mixed reviews, the Yogaraj Bhat and Golden Star Ganesh combination proved to be too good an offer to pass up for the fans as the film ends Day #14 at Rs. 30.16 crores in terms of nett collections at the domestic box office.

The second week saw a significant dip in collections but thanks to the superb week #1 run that the makers were able to reap great dividends nevertheless. As per the latest trade reports, the first week's box office collections were closed at Rs. 23.1 crores (nett) and Rs. 27.35 crores in terms of gross values.

As far as the gross figures are concerned, Gaalipata 2 has reportedly ended the two-week box office run at Rs. 33.2 crores at the domestic box office and is slowly inching towards the Rs. 40 crore mark worldwide.

By virtue of these collections, Gaalipata 2 stands tall as one of the biggest openings for a Kannada film this year in the home state of Karnataka. The year 2022 has been a watershed period for the Kannada Film Industry with not one but multiple films performing really well at the global box office: the phenomenon was kickstarted by K.G.F: Chapter 2 back in April of this year and the same clout was later leveraged by other pan-India releases such as 777 Charlie and Vikrant Rona.

‘Kiccha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona is a Rs 200 crore blockbuster’ screams new trailer ahead of OTT release

Gaalipata 2, in this vein, is a genuine commercial success as the film did not boast of a wide pan-India release. The film essentially worked on the back of the previous instalment’s cult success and the fact that Yogaraj Bhat was reuniting with actors Ganesh, Diganth Manchale, and Ananth Nag. Arjun Janya’s music too proved to be a major contributor to the success.
