A still from the film

Gatta Kusthi, which opened to positive response from critics and audience, is ready for its digital premiere. The film helmed by Chella Ayyavu, starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi in lead roles, hit the screens earlier this month. The movie marked Vishnu's second outing in 2022 after FIR.

The project which was released in Telugu as Matti Kusthi was jointly bankrolled by Vishnu and Tollywood star Ravi Teja under the banners of Vishnu Vishal Studioz and RT Media Works respectively.

Its story revolves around a happy-go-lucky kabaddi player getting hitched to an ambitious wrestler from Kerala. However, the former isn't aware of the latter's penchant for the sport. What happens in the couple's life after they get to know each others' real identity forms the rest of the story. The performances of actors, a few comedy sequences and neatly shot fight scenes are a few attractive aspects of the film.

Apart from Vishnu and Aishwarya, the likes of Kaali Venkat, Munishkanth, Karunas and Lizzie Antony, too, stood out with their earnest performances in the film. Justin Prabhakaran has composed music for the project which has cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Prasanna GK.

Gatta Kusthi will be dropping on Netflix on January 1. We had reported earlier that the OTT giant has acquired the film's digital rights. The movie, which was released along with Vijay Sethupathi's DSP, surpassed the latter in terms of response from critics and the audience.

Fans of Vishnu Vishal are now awaiting the release of the actor's next outing Mohandas which is expected to hit the screens in February.
