After last year’s Lokah reimagined the tale of a Yakshi (a vampire-like creature), we are set to get another vampire film in Malayalam. Half, an upcoming Malayalam film by Golam director Samjad, was announced last year with Ranjith Sanjeev in the lead. Now, the second-look poster from the movie has dropped online, which is said to be a vampire action film. Actresses Amala Paul and Aishwarya Raj are also on board the film, which is set for a 2026 release

Who are the actors in Half movie

The makers of Half dropped the second poster from the movie on February 6, revealing it is three lead actors - Amala Paul, Ranjith Sanjeev, and Aishwarya Raj. The poster with the three lead stars in comic book-style avatars showed Ranjith with vampire-like teeth with blood on his clothes. Aishwarya Rajesh's character also looks fatally injured. A car is also shown in the foreground.

The latest poster released by the makers confirmed that Half is slated to be a 2026 movie, though an exact release date was not mentioned. The Malayalam film will also release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.

The poster had the caption “Pain remembers its enemy and the Night remembers the scream” written in all five languages.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay Half director Samjad had revealed that his upcoming film is based on ‘half vampires'.

For the unversed, Half director Samjad had previously helmed Golam, also starring Ranjith Sajeev. A thriller revolving around the investigation into a company MD's death, Golam had impressed audiences with its story and performances.

A science-fiction mockumentary Gaganachari was released in 2024, which featured Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, and Anarkali Marikar. Gaganachari director Arun Chandu is helming another upcoming sci-fi film Vala, which would also feature Jagathy Sreekumar. Another zombie Malayalam film - Jambi - has also been announced. Directed by George Kora, Jambi will also feature actor-influencer Pearle Maaney.
