Hari Hara Veera Mallu was Telugu star Pawan Kalyan’s grand comeback to the big screen even amid his busy political schedule. But the film failed to attract audiences. Set during the Mughal era in the 17th century, the action-packed film follows the warrior Veera Mallu to rescue a city from Mughal soldiers. Bollywood star Bobby Deol appears as Aurangzeb in the film, which was panned for its poor VFX and making, especially in the second half. The Telugu film is also available to stream in Tamil and Malayalam.

Thalaivan Thalaivii

Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, who had previously featured in the poignant Malayalam film 19 (1)(A) star in this Tamil film as a married couple. The film narrates how things changed between them post marriage. The film was a winner at the box office, despite mixed reviews.

Maareesan

Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil returns to Tamil cinema and once again joins hands with his Maamannan co-star Vadivelu for this slow-burn thriller. Fahadh is seen as a petty thief who tags along with an elderly man, suffering from Alzheimer's, as he plans to loot him. But as they set out on a road trip, it takes a turn that not many saw coming. The film garnered positive to mixed reviews.

Kolahalam

Kolahalam means commotion or chaos and that is exactly what happens after an elderly man's demise, and a robber breaks in even as preparations are on for the funeral. A comedy drama, Kolahalam is helmed by Rasheed Parambil. The film did not make any waves at the box office and the makers would be hoping that the comedy drama will attract some attention upon its digital release.

Soothravakyam

OTT release date August 21, 2025

This Malayalam film stars Shine Tom Chacko and Vincy Aloshious, who were also at the centre of controversy with the actress alleging inappropriate behavior by the lead actor. But for the controversy which was resolved before the film’s theatrical release, Soothravakyam was hardly discussed.

The film follows circle inspector Christo Xavier who also takes tuition for students at his police station, while Vincy is seen as a teacher who is not impressed by his kind gesture.
