Sanam Teri Kasam producer dismisses Radhika Rao-Vinay Sapru's claims of making sequel: 'I have not finalized any...'

Harshvardhan Rane's Sanam Teri Kasam producer has reacted to Radhika Rao-Vinay Sapru's claims about making the sequel. The first installment was directed by the duo.

Sanam Teri Kasam has had a glorious run at the box office upon its re-release. The Harshvardhan Rane-starrer returned to the theatres nine years after its original release. The movie hit the big screen on February 7, 2025. Amid Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release success, reports about Sanam Teri Kasam 2 have surfaced online. Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who directed the first installment, confirmed that they're making the part two. However, producer Deepak Mukut has dismissed their claims.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sanam Teri Kasam producer Deepak Mukut made it clear the rights to make the film's sequel are with him. "The IP of Sanam Teri Kasam belongs to me since I am its producer. So, the rights to make a sequel or even a prequel or a remake rests with me," he said.

The producer also revealed that he announced the sequel (Sanam Teri Kasam 2) in September 2024. But he hasn't had any discussions with filmmaker-duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. "They haven’t met and spoken to me about it. I have not finalized any director. It is their duty to reach out to me rather than the other way round, especially since they are giving interviews about making the sequel," added Deepak.

Sharing an update on Sanam Teri Kasam 2 Deepak revealed that the film will go on floors once it is completely written. While Harshvardhan will be back in the second installment, Mawra Hocane won't be a part of it. Talking about the film's leading lady, Mukut added, "We are looking for an ideal girl for the part. She should be a nice performer just like Mawra Hocane in the first part."
