Filmmaker Sailesh Kolanu, who shot to fame with the Tollywood movie HIT, is ready with its second installment. The first part, which starred Vishwak Sen in the lead, was released in 2020, and was judged as one of the engaging crime thrillers in Telugu. The movie was later remade into Hindi under the helm of Sailesh.

HIT 2 aka HIT: The 2nd Case has been slated for a theatrical release on December 2. Adivi Sesh is playing the protagonist in the second installment which has Rao Ramesh and Meenakshii Chaudhary among others essaying pivotal roles in it.

The makers have come up with an intriguing promo video in which director Sailesh has introduced the audience to the HIT crime universe. He has explained why Vishwak Sen has been replaced by Adivi Sesh in the second case and how many cops are involved in the Homicide Intervention Team (HIT) in different states in the country.

Adivi plays Krishna Dev aka KD in HIT 2, a ruthless, but sensible cop who is on a mission to nab a few dreaded criminals. The promo video ends with Adivi making a surprise entry when Sailesh was on the verge of announcing HIT 3.

The duo announced together that the film's teaser will be out on November 3. The makers have also unveiled the character posters of Rao Ramesh and Meenakshii from the movie. They play Nageswara Rao and Aarya respectively in the much-awaited project.

S Manikandan and Garry Bh have handled cinematography and editing for HIT 2 which has action choreography designed by Sunil Rodrigues, Venkat, Naba and Real Sathish. MM Sree Lekha and Suresh Bobbili have composed songs while John Stewart Eduri has designed the background score.
