Hui Gumm Yaadein – Ek Doctor, Do Zindagiyaan has been announced as a SonyLIV release. The show brings back Iqbal Khan in a powerful role. He plays a smart doctor, who is actually a patient at this point of time. This is a doctor who understands what another patient is going through just by observing their behaviour. The 1.30 minute promo, which is also the first look from the show, definitely looks promising. The actor plays the role of Dr. Dev Mehta, who has lost his memory of 12 years and is now a patient himself, while still retaining the skills that set an extraordinary doctor apart.

Yaadein is the Indian adaptation of the Italian medical drama TV show, Nelle Tue Mani. The TV show was adapted from the real-life case of doctor Pierdante Piccioni, former chief of Lodi and Codogno’s emergency room. He forgot 12 years of his life following a car accident in 2013. Nelle Tue Mani (meaning In Your Hands in Italian) featured Luca Argentero in the lead role of Andrea Fanti. The series ran for three seasons since 2020, with the last episode airing in 2024. The show is an ongoing one.

Yaadein brings Iqbal Khan back on TV after three years. He was last seen in Na Umra Ki Seema Ho. The actor spoke to ETimes about better work-life balance in the TV industry this time around. “For my last few shows, I have not worked more than 10 to 12 hours a day. The unit packs up together, and schedules are better planned. Things are more disciplined now,” he noted.

Yaadein also features Ekta Kaul and Srishti Singh in the lead roles. The release date for the show is not yet set, but it is scheduled for SonyLIV (OTTplay Premium) release soon.
