Idli Kadai, the recently released Tamil film starring actor Dhanush in the lead role, is soon to premiere on OTT. The film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Netflix, which will premiere Idli Kadai on October 29.

Idli Kadai, the 2025 Tamil film which features Dhanush not only in the lead role, but also as writer and director, is heading towards digital release. Netflix, which has the streaming rights will release the film on October 29, Wednesday. With the film nearing the end of its theatrical run, Idli Kadai will find a new set of audience on the OTT space.

Idli Kadai is a feel-good drama, which marks Dhanush’s fourth directorial after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and NEEK. The film revolves around a young man who must leave his life and work abroad, and return to his rural hometown and take up the responsibility of running his father’s iconic yet humble idli eatery. Released in theatres on October 1, Idli Kadai mostly received middling to decent reviews. One has to wait and watch what kind of reception the film will get once its OTT debut.

Idli Kadai features Dhanush in the lead role, who took up wielding the megaphone too. The film also witnesses the reunion of the Thiruchitrambalam pair, with Nithya Menen playing a prominent role. Apart from them, Idli Kadai boasts a star ensemble including actors Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Geetha Kailasam, Ilavarasu, Shalini Pandey, Samuthirakani, and Parthiban. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar in his yet another collaboration with Dhanush after films like Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, Aadukalam and NEEK.

Meanwhile, Dhanush who is on a release spree, will be next seen in Hindi romantic drama Tere Ishq Mein. The film will hit theatres on November 28 and co-stars Kriti Sanon. It is directed by Anand L Rai.
