India vs Australia, Day 3: The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur saw the Test game end on Day 3. Australia was absolutely hammered by India as they were bowled out in just over a session.

India's spinners worked their charm with R Ashwin taking a five-fer, Jadeja and Shami getting two each with Axar getting a scalp to this name. Ashwin and Jadeja were near unplayable out there, bowling them out for just 91.

Steve Smith was the top scorer as he managed to get just 25 runs. No batter even got a start as the spinners did not allow the batters to settle down.

The start of Day 3 also saw Jadeja and Axar continue with the good partnership they had on Day 2. However, after the visitors managed to nip out Jadeja early, Axar was still at the crease and was joined by Shami.

Axar and Shami stitched a half-century partnership with the latter striking three sixes off Murphy. However, his explosive innings were put to an end by the debutant. Axar Patel batted superbly and recorded his highest Test score taking India's score to 400.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma smashed his century and got some support from other batters. However, Todd Murphy continued to impress and took a five-wicket haul. He prised out R Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli in quick succession.

Nathan Lyon crashed through SKY's gate, but Ravindra Jadeja came in and took over the baton from his captain. Pat Cummins, however, bowled a brilliant spell and sent Rohit Sharma's off-stump cartwheeling. Murphy continued his attack and got KS Bharat out to complete his fifer.

But India's batting was not over as Jadeja was joined by Axar Patel and the duo really wore out the Aussie bowlers.

On Day 1, Ravindra Jadeja claimed a five-wicket haul and Ravichandran Ashwin claimed three. Before the spin combo took over, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj had Australia down to 2 for 2 in 2.1 overs. For the first time in a home Test, Axar Patel goes wicketless in an innings.

Marnus Labuschagne led the Australians in scoring with 49 runs, followed by Steven Smith (37), Alex Carey (36), and Peter Handscomb (31).
