A number of reports doing the rounds recently suggest that popular Television comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show, which is also available to steam on SonyLIV will be going off air some time in June. The reason for the same has been reported to be upcpming US-Canada tour of its host Kapil Sharma as he won't be available to shoot for fresh episodes then.

Rumour mills have also been busy churning that the makers have decided to pull the plug on The Kapil Sharma Show owing to the recent controversy regarding the promotion of Vivek Agnihotri directorial The Kashmir Files. The director had claimed that Kapil Sharma's team didn't invite them to promote their film on the show as it didn't boast of any big stars. However, the same was later clarified by Anupam Kher who revealed that he was invited but he refused to go on the show.

Now, a report on TOI suggests that the Kapil Sharma hosted show will not be going off air. The report quoted a source as saying that there's no truth to the rumours that are doing the rounds and that the show is not going to be suspended abruptly. The report also added that the team has been shooting as usual and that shooting of further episodes have been scheduled till the end of April this year and so "there are no plans of pulling the plug on it."

Does that mean that the show will not even go on a temporary break? The source further told the portal that the team is working on creating a bank of episodes that will be telecast when the cast will be away for a month in June for the US-Canada tour. "The show may take a short break around that time because Kapil likes to take short breaks between seasons. But there is nothing concrete on that front yet,” the source was further quoted as saying by the publication.

Host Kapil Sharma had taken a break last year as well, when he embraced parenthood for the second time. However, this time, the break will reportedly be only for a few weeks and apparently, the banked episodes will be aired during that time in June this year.

On the work front, Kapil Sharma will next be seen in a film directed by Nandita Das. The comedian-turned-actor will be seen in the avatar of a food delivery rider. For the uninitiated, Kapil had made his acting debut in 2015 with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and his last film Firangi hit the theatres in 2017.
