Originally, Sun NXT was supposed to stream the romantic drama on December 25 for Christmas. However, for unclear reasons, it was delayed. The platform released a teaser to reveal its updated OTT debut date. Ithiri Neram began streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium from 12 am on December 31. It is expected to garner more praise that its merits online.

On the same day, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam versions of Sandeep Pradeep's recent thriller Eko went live on Netflix. Recent Malayalam releases on Sun NXT include Sahasam, Dheeran, and Nidhiyum Bhoothavaum. Meanwhile, Dominic and the Ladies' Purse is available on ZEE5.
