Jailer 2: Shiva Rajkumar promises a longer cameo in Rajinikanth-Nelson Dilipkumar sequel

Jailer 2: The sequel to the 2023 action thriller, is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar with a release set to take place sometime in summer 2026.

Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, who is gearing up for release of his next feature 45, recently promoted the film in Chennai. Speaking on the sidelines of it, Shiva Rajkumar opened about his yet another cameo appearance in a Rajinikanth film, with the upcoming Jailer 2.

Jailer 2: Shiva Rajkumar talks about his role in Rajinikanth sequel

Actor Shiva Rajkumar who is in Chennai, has come for two reasons. While one is to promote his upcoming Kannada film 45, there is also his schedule of Jailer 2 being planned. Shiva Rajkumar, who made a remarkable cameo in Jailer, will be returning for its sequel as well. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is headlined by Rajinikanth.

Speaking to Behindwoods on the sidelines of 45 promotions, Shiva Rajkumar was quizzed about his role in Jailer 2. “I have shot for a day and am shooting again tomorrow. It will be sort of a continuation and sequel,” he added. Shiva Rajkumar further revealed that the cameo will be little bigger that the first part.

Jailer 2 is currently under production, with Rajinikanth and other key cast members involved in the shoot. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers, but Jailer 2 is expected to come sometime in summer 2026. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, with some key cast members like actors Ramya Krishnan, Vinayak set to return for the sequel.

Director-actor Raj B Shetty who was also part of the panel talked about the pan-Indian failures and bringing in big stars for namesake. "When Jailer came and Shivanna walked, I whistled for that. It was collaborated in a way where it became integral part of cinema. Sometimes when it is for mount-up for cinema or economic calculation, then the whole intention is corrupt, is what I feel,” he said.
