The conflict surrounding the release of Suresh Gopi's next movie, Janaki v/s State of Kerala, has not been resolved. According to the most recent information, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly ordered the film's producers to mute any reference to Janaki from the courtroom drama in order to avoid suffering a significant financial loss.

The CBFC's directive to silence any reference to Janaki in the courtroom drama does not come as a relief for the makers. It is still in doubt, though, why the word should not be used in the movie. It's also unclear whether the board has released a written statement regarding the new instruction. According to reports, the movie could be released on July 17 after the Kerala High Court gave it a favourable hearing.
During the July 2 hearing, Justice N Nagaresh stated his decision to view the film before the proceedings start and before deciding whether to grant the producer's request for the film's certification.
The Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) disagreement over the title and the main character's name in Janaki v/s State of Kerala has put the movie in the spotlight. Prior to the film's theatrical debut, the Central Board of Film Certification had concerns over the name of the main character, a victim of sexual assault who is seeking justice. The Kerala High Court questioned the reasoning behind CBFC's request for modifications during the most recent session.
Associations like AMMA and FEFKA, meanwhile, went on strike on June 30 in protest of CBFC's demand that the film be changed. Many actors and filmmakers also expressed their disagreement over the board's ruling, which affects an artiste's creative freedom. Due to the board's decision, this film was not able to be screened in theatres on June 27. The temporary suspension of the release has also shattered the makers.
