Jawan director Atlee heads to Cannes, videos from the airport surface

Director Atlee has left for the Cannes Film festival along with his wife and producer Priya Atlee. The duo were clicked at the airport before the departure and videos of the same have emerged on social media. This will be the Jawan director's maiden appearance at the Cannes.
Atlee is gearing up for his Bollywood debut with the Shah Rukh Khan's film. The film marks the debut of Nayanthara and composer Anirudh Ravichander in the Hindi film industry as well.
The action thriller will have Shah Rukh in a dual role. The rest of the star cast includes Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, Riddhi Dogra, Astha Agarwal, Kenny Basumatary, Girija Oak to name a few.
There will be cameo appearances by Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt and Allu Arjun. The film is all set to hit screens on September 7.
When Shah Rukh Khan recently had a chat session with his fans, he called the team of mass! He wrote on his social media handle, " SRK wrote, "For me at least it’s a new kind of a genre. An Atlee special and the marriage of trying to bring two ways of making films in tandem (sic)."
SRK added that he watched the previous films of Atlee and that he liked Theri and Mersal. Interestingly, both films had Thalapathy Vijay as the lead actor. Vijay is also said to be making an appearance in the film, however, there is no confirmation on the same yet. However, Vijay had met Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan during the film's shoot in Chennai.
Shah Rukh Khan stated that Atlee made him learn Tamil, and Anirudh made him lip sync for a song. He wrote, "Atlee and Anirudh made me do a few song lines (lip synch ) in Tamil….hope I got them right (sic)." Jawan is releasing in Tamil as well.
