Junior box office collection day 4: Kireeti Reddy's film passes Monday test, grosses Rs 14 crore

Junior is Kireeti Reddy's new film that has taken a decent start. Thanks to the presence of big stars, Genelia and Sreeleela, the film has impressed its target audience.

Junior is the latest Telugu film that became a talking point ahead of its release, featuring debutant Kireeti Reddy, Genelia Deshmukh, Sreeleela, and V. Ravichandran in key roles. The youthful drama started with a positive talk, and as the word of mouth spread, the film saw decent occupancy from day two onwards, helped by a long weekend in the Telugu states.

Junior latest collections

The film did extremely well in the first three days of its release. Everyone thought the film would fizzle out after its first day, but that did not happen, as Junior made ₹1 crore on its fourth day. This is a decent collection considering the film features a newcomer in the lead, but thanks to the presence of popular stars in key roles and solid music by DSP, Junior is seeing good occupancy.

However, collections have slowed down in a few areas of Andhra Pradesh. To date, Junior has made close to Rs 7 crore net which is a decent number.

The makers left no stone unturned to make the film a success, and one can say that actor Kireeti Reddy has passed with flying colours, even though the film was branded as routine. His debut performance has been appreciated big time. His dances, fights, and emotional dialogues have impressed audiences.

Along with Kireeti Reddy, the one who is being talked about the most is Genelia Deshmukh. She has made her comeback to Telugu cinema after 13 long years, playing Kireeti Reddy’s sister in the film. Her role is one of the highlights of the film.

Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music and delivered superhit songs for the film, especially the item number Viral Vayyari, which has become a sensation on Shorts. There’s even a section of the audience watching the film in theatres just for this song.

Junior yet to lock its OTT platform

We need to see how the film fares as big releases like Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Kingdom are lined up this week. In a way, Junior has achieved what it set out to do launching Kireeti Reddy, son of media baron Gali Janardhan Reddy into films.

A lot of money has been spent on the movie, and it shows on screen. The OTT platform is yet to be locked, and we’ll have to wait and see when the film lands online. Stay tuned for more updates.
