With the release of the Kaantha trailer, it is almost like how period dramas charm their way into the filmography of actor Dulquer Salmaan. After starring in Mahanati, Sita Ramam, and Lucky Bhaskar, the actor is once again set to travel to another era in the past with the upcoming Kaantha. Rana Daggubati, who is one of the producers and actors of Kaantha, spoke about how Dulquer Salmaan has become a poster boy for period flicks.

Kaantha is an upcoming Tamil film starring actor Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The actor will be playing the role of an actor from the 1950s Madras, which is fashioned to inspire from Tamil superstar MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar.

It is not new for Dulquer Salmaan to transport his fans to a different era, given he had aced it every given time. One of the producers of Kaantha, and actor Rana Daggubati, said at the trailer launch event in Chennai on Thursday, “Nadipu Chakravarthy is what Selva said in Kaantha (referring to Dulquer's role), but after November 14, the whole of Tamil Nadu will tell it to him. I am very sure of that. I think anyone in India with a period film would think of Dulquer Salmaan first. Only if his dates are not available, they will go to another person.” Expressing his friendship and camaraderie with Dulquer, Rana said praised the latter for being the actor he is. "My father watched the film and said he would like to keep watching it.”
