The second part to the mythological fantasy sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD, has begun with its works. As per reports, the makers have gone on floors in Hyderabad. It is also expected that stars Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan are expected to join the shoot on the sets built in Shankarpally.

The 2024 film, written and directed by Nag Ashwin, and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, and others. Drawing inspiration from the Hindu epic, Kalki 2898 AD is set in the dystopian future when the world reaches a worse stage, and the tenth reincarnation of Lord Vishnu, Kalki, is expected to take over to demolish evil forces. Who is replacing Deepika Padukone in Kalki sequel?

It is to be noted that in the first part, Deepika Padukone played an important role, Sum-80. However, the makers had announced after the release of the first part that the actor is no longer attached to the sequel. While the team is yet to announce an official replacement for the role, it is rumoured that Sai Pallavi will be taking up the role of Sum-80.
