The Kennedy filmmaker called the movie "a bulls**t propaganda movie." He continued by saying that the movie's goal is to incite animosity in order to generate revenue. According to Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the audience will not consider Anurag Kashyap's remark credible. "His movies have been a failure in box office for a long time. He lost his mental capacity. The fact that our sisters are being forced to eat meat in order to change their religion is something he cannot see," he remarked. The director of The Kerala Story 2 further underlined that all of the scenes in his movie are based on real-life events, and he will send all of the research documents to Anurag's home if he wants.
Kamakhya continued by saying that in order to make this movie, he looked into 1,500 articles, 70–80 FIRs, met the victims, and read court rulings. "The reality will remain the same even if we close our eyes. This is a common phenomenon in society," he continued. After Prakash Raj made a comment about the film, the director responded by saying that "he has become intellectually bankrupt". On his social media platforms, Kamakhya also shared a reply video that slammed the remarks made by these actors and directors. On social media, Kamakhya and the creators of The Kerala Story are still facing criticism for inciting hatred and offending communal sentiments.
When the press asked Anurag what he thought of the film, he responded with these remarks as he landed at Cochin Airport for the 70th Filmfare Awards. "The creator is greedy. People don't even feed Khichdi the way they feed beef in the movie," he remarked. "The real Kerala Story is how pork, beef, and fish coexist with vegetarian sadya and all of them live in harmony," Prakash Raj wrote in a post on X.
