Kamal Haasan finds replacement for Udhayanidhi? THIS leading actor will play the lead in RKFI 54

Udhayanidhi with Kamal Haasan

When Kamal Haasan was basking in the huge success of Vikram a few months ago, little did his fans expect that he would announce a production venture with Udhayanidhi playing the lead in it. The latter had distributed the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, and is now co-producing Ulaganayagan's Indian 2 as well.

The movie was tentatively titled RKFI 54, but Udhay's decision to quit acting after he was sworn in as the Tamil Nadu State Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development yesterday has stunned the team. Though the actor-producer-politician made a similar move sometime ago, he had reconsidered his decision.

But this time, he is unlikely to budge on his decision considering the responsibilities bestowed upon him. For film buffs who are wondering whether the project would be dropped, we have learnt that Vijay Sethupathi is likely to play the lead in it.

An announcement on the same is awaited soon along with other details on the film. This will be the second collaboration of Sethupathi under Raaj Kamal Films International after Vikram. Kamal was the chief guest for the pre-release event of Sethupathi's last outing DSP, and the duo has developed a good bonding in recent times.

Kamal had announced a while ago that Sivakarthikeyan will be acting in another film he is bankrolling which has Rajkumar Periyasamy at the helm. Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead in it, and the movie is tipped as a big budget flick.

Fans of the veteran actor-filmmaker are now waiting for the release of Indian 2. The mega budget project being directed by Shankar is expected to hit the screens in 2023.
