Kantara Chapter 1 trailer: Finally, actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty is ready to give the world a glimpse into the new world of Kantara

The wait to catch the first glimpse of the world that actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty is set to present in Kantara Chapter 1 is soon coming to an end. The makers of the Kantara prequel have officially announced the arrival of the film’s much-anticipated trailer. It had been speculated that the trailer would drop on September 20, but the official confirmation has now come and it is not on 20th. The trailer of Kantara Chapter 1 will be officially unveiled on September 22 at 12.45 pm.

Kantara Chapter 1 comes exactly 3 years after the original film that took the box office by storm and catapulted Rishab to Divine Star status and won him a National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film. The film will release in theatres world wide on October 2 in 7 languages, but sources suggest that like the original, the prequel will also have paid premieres a day ahead, albeit this time, on a much wider scale. More than 2,500 premiere shows are being planned, with bookings for the same expected to open soon.
Rishab, who has fiercely guarded details about the film and not allowed any visuals to be leaked from the set is, according to a synopsis available online, presenting a film set in 300 CE, during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty and will take audiences into the mystical forests of Banavasi, where divine spirits awaken and the roots of the Daiva tradition are forged. Rishab transforms into a fierce Naga Sadhu, a warrior mystic, destined to become the bridge between mortals and the divine.

A conflict about the ownership of tribal land is said to be at the heart of the tale. Besides Rishab, only Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah’s casting has been officially confirmed, while Malayalam and Tamil actor Jayaram revealed that he’s also a part of the film. More details about the film, which has music by B Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by Arvind Kashyap are expected once the trailer drops.
