When Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 hit theatres on August 1, the climax of the film had a connection to Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 5. In Son of Sardaar 2, after the interaction between the director and Ajay, the Singham star asked him what he was doing, to which Shetty replied, “Golmaal 5 ki taiyaari kar raha ho," which directly confirms Golmaal 5. Now, a report mentioned that the shooting for the film will begin in March 2026, while Kareena Kapoor Khan is in advanced talks to return as the female lead.

Mid-Day reported that Ajay Devgn is all set to begin the Golmaal 5 shoot in March 2026, wrapping up filming for Drishyam 3. A source close to the production told the portal, “Director Abhishek Pathak wants to ensure that the storytelling is as taut as the first two parts. The team plans to begin shooting in Goa by December and wrap up by March 2026.”

As per the report, Paresh Rawal has also joined the cast. Speaking about Kareena Kapoor Khan's return to the Golmaal franchise, the portal mentioned, "Kareena shares great chemistry with Ajay. Since she led Golmaal Returns [2008] and Golmaal 3 [2010], her presence brings a nostalgic charm. The cast will be finalised by December-end.”
