Daveed actor Antony Varghese, who is also part of Dulquer Salmaan's I Am Game, will join hands for his buddy Paul George and the producer of Marco for his upcoming movie Kattalan

After the poster of Malayalam actor Antony ‘Pepe’ Varghese’s Kattalan was unveiled online, many were quick to speculate whether the production house, Cubes Entertainment that had also backed Marco, would be coming up with a more violent movie as the sophomore venture.
The poster of the action-thriller should a silhoutte of an axe-weilding man against the backdrop of a forest, where the water was drenched in red along with tusks and bodies strewn all over. Though the movie is yet to go on floors, the makers have promised that the film will “achieve ever greater milestones” with an “accomplished technical team comprising experts from Malayalam and other film industries”.
Kattalan, which will go on floors soon, also marks the debut directorial of Paul George. Antony, in a recent interview, with OTTplay had talked about what it meant for him, collaborating with his friends for their dream projects.
When asked if he has helped them land films, the Daveed actor brushes it off. “I have always believed in being true to yourself. Be who you are,” he said. However, he admitted that he had seen the work that has gone into each film, firsthand.

“There’s a group of friends in my hometown who love cinema. When the pandemic lockdown rules were relaxed, we rented a room at a hotel and wrote stories for films. We call our WhatsApp group – 105 Anga Gang,” he said. “There are about 12 of us, out of which six were actors. They had only done short films then. Today, however, from that group, three of them have already announced and another has accepted advance for his directorial. The fifth person is busy with his film’s script. Out of the five, three of them are making their movies with me. I still remember a lot of people had criticised us, but we made it work.”
Antony also said that as a group, “it’s about making those bonds stronger and being happy for the dreams finally materialising”. “It makes us proud too and gives us power. I can now just walk into the sets of their movie and have a cup of tea. That’s a great feeling. If my career slumps, I can always go them and ask, ‘Da, please do a movie with me’,” said the actor.
Apart from Kattalan, Antony is also part of Nihas Hidayath’s I'm Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan, another film directed by Marco filmmaker Haneef Adeni and a project with Keerthy Suresh.
