The first look poster of Kenatha Kanom, the upcoming Tamil film starring Yogi Babu in the lead role, was released by the makers on social media on Thursday. The film comes from JioHotstar, but will have a theatrical release before it hits the streaming platform.

After starring in the lead roles in films like Mandela, Boat , Bommai Nayagi , actor Yogi Babu is set to headline the upcoming rural drama Kenatha Kanom, a JioHotstar presented film. The first look poster is now out.

The first look of Kenatha Kanom presents a grounded, rustic aesthetic that hints at a situational, character-driven, fun-filled drama. With Yogi Babu positioned at the center surrounded by villagers, the poster shows all of them with folded hands. The film comes from the director of Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu and Sathya Sodhanai, Suresh Sangaiah, who is no more. Suresh Sangaiah had passed away in November 2024 due to jaundice. A release date for Kenatha Kanom is yet to be announced.

What do we know about Kenatha Kanom?

Billed to be a rural comedy drama, Kenatha Kanom revolves around a village which is facing severe water shortage as people pray for rain. The problem is that impactful that elders are hesitant to give their daughter's hand in marriage to a man who comes from drought-stricken place. Yogi Babu and villagers plan to dig a well, but they find something else; a skeleton, probably that of a dinosaur. Soon the archaeological department takes in charge of village much to the dismay of the people.

While Yogi Babu essays the protagonist’s role, the rest of the star cast includes Lovelyn Chandrasekhar, Ramakrishnan, Raichel Rabecca, George Mariyam, Mottai Rajendiran, Kavitha Barathi, Kalaipandiyan, Hello Kandasamy and many others. Nivas K Prasanna is composing the music, and V Thiyagarajan is handling cinematography. R Ramar is overseeing the editing. Kenatha Kanom will stream on JioHotstar after its theatrical run.
